INFORMATION  NEEDED  FOR  PLANNING

Individual supplies

bedroll or blankets and sheets (see bed plan for size)

pillow case (20 pillows are provided)

towels, wash cloth, toiletries, etc.

                                                    

Group Supplies

For 3 bathrooms - hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper.

For kitchen - dishwasher detergent, paper towels, hand towels, dish cloth. dish soap, 20 gal. trash can liners (3-4 per day).  All food including sugar, salt/pepper, etc.

Stereo or tape deck if you want music. TV and VCR (poor TV reception)

The kitchen is equipped with electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, 1 regular refrigerator, 1 small drink refrigerator in utility room, electric griddle, 2 - 12 cup Mr. Coffee pots, knives, pots, pans, complete table service (in pantry under the stairs), (paper products recommended for large groups), charcoal grill outside.

 

Telephone - Land line requires long distance phone card (phone number included with driving directions).  Cell phones do not work because of the mountains.  There is a pay phone 3 miles south on Rt. 678 in front of The Country Store.  To contact people in a dire emergency, call Joan Hayes at 301-972-0719.

 

Campfire – Fire scar across the road from the house.  Please keep fire small and have shovel and bucket of water on hand for containing fire.  Gather fuel from the woods.

Groceries - there is a small country store 3 miles south on Rt. 678 for limited items - bread, milk, ice cream, eggs, ice, etc.

 

Local Activities - directions for hiking trails, swimming, and other nearby attractions are in a blue notebook in the bookcase.

 

Catholic Church - 123 West Main St, Front Royal.  Mass, Sat. 5:30 pm: Sun. 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:45am, and 12:30pm (Tridentine).
