Nestled in 20 acres of woods in the middle of secluded and picturesque Fort Valley, Virginia, THE DWELLING PLACE provides a perfect setting for group retreats or family fun.  It provides a great get-away in a peaceful mountain/valley setting with no traffic, air pollution, or hustle and bustle -  just nature offering its most soothing presence.  Area activities from a 10 to 45 minute drive include horseback riding, biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, touring caverns, Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, and various historical spots.

A large Dutch colonial house with a new ranch style addition, THE DWELLING PLACE accommodates up to 24 persons, and has 4 1/2  baths, a completely equipped kitchen, dining room, a great room, sunroom, and screened porch.  The west wing is handicapped accessible.  Persons using The DWELLING PLACE provide their own bedding, linens, and food and clean up before leaving.
